Fiery Gizzard Galleries

Hiking Fiery Gizzard : Janie and I have been talking about hiking Fiery Gizzard for several months (so named because Davy Crockett reportedly burned his tongue on a turkey gizzard here). We finally made it on Saturday 7/24/2004, and we were not disappointed. This is the best trail that we've been on. It had a beautiful creek, a 3 mile rock garden, and an 800 foot climb. On top of all that, about 400 yards from the summit, we got caught in a torrential thunderstorm. Here are some snaps of our hike.
