White Duck / Black Duck : Went down to the duck pond to do some shooting, and this fellow was kind enough to do a nice figure 8 right in front of me. The black guy took off from across the pond and came straight at me. I was lucky to get the shot. He landed right at my feet!! One of the best shooting opportunities I've gotten there yet.

More Mallards : I guess this should be 'Mostly Mallards' since a few shots are other species. Got these while out for a test session with the D70 and Sigma 50-500. Today (4/22/04) I added several shots taken with the 70-200VR + 1.4 TC, starting with the female mallard.

D70 / New 70-200VR : Just got the 70-200 VR and snapped a few shots. Still have a long way to go to learn how to get even close to the best out of this jewel. It was very gloomy when I took the duck shots. In fact, it started raining on me while I was shooting. Just wanted to post some pics. Just added a few shots of some gulls taken the day after the ducks. A little better weather, but still a long way to go on the shots.

Honkers at Sunset : I was standing around at the local duck pond trying to get some mallards in flight and this bunch flew right at me. It was almost sunset, so they are a little on the dark side. Taken with the D70 + TC-14EII.
